Description

Belgian Minister of Finance and first Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) 1946-1951 Was born 14 November 1884 in Brussels, Belgium and died 7 June 1971 in Brussels. He was the son of Max Guttenstein, journalist, and Marie-Pauline Schweitzer. On 28 August 1906 he married Claire Marie Frick, Olympic swimmer, with whom he had three sons.
