Description

Danish specialist in tuberculosis and third Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) 1973-1988 Was born 21 April 1923 in Vivild, Denmark and passed away 14 December 2016 in Geneva, Switzerland. He was the son of Magnus Theodor Mahler, preacher, and Benedicte Olinka Ferdinande Marie Suadicani. On 31 August 1957 he married Ebba Fischer-Simonsen, psychiatrist. They had two sons.
