French politician and first Director of the International Labour Office of the International Labour Organization (ILO) 1919-1932 Was born 16 June 1878 in Champigny-sur-Marne, France and passed away 7 May 1932 in Paris, France. He was the son of Aristide Hilaire Thomas, baker, and Marie Louise Clémence Malloire, baker. On 17 January 1905 he married Madeleine Chaufaille, teacher. They had three daughters.
