Description
This dataset contains a long-term current velocity profile time series collected by the OBSEA seafloor observatory. Deployed 4 km offshore from Vilanova i la Geltrú, Spain (NW Mediterranean), OBSEA is a multiparametric platform that has been continuously acquiring multidisciplinary marine data since 2009. To ensure scientific reliability, this dataset has undergone automated Quality Control (QC) processing in accordance with the QARTOD guidelines.
The dataset aggregates observations from an Acoustic Wave and Current (AWAC) profiler deployed at the OBSEA observatory. The instrument operates at a 10-minute sampling interval, with data subsequently aggregated into 30-minute averages. To maintain high data integrity, only raw data points that successfully pass the QARTOD quality control tests are included in the final 30-minute averages.
