Wave data at OBSEA seabed observatory (quality-controlled)

Description

This dataset contains a long-term wave observations collected by the OBSEA seafloor observatory. Located 4 km offshore from Vilanova i la Geltrú, Spain (NW Mediterranean), OBSEA is a multiparametric platform that has been continuously acquiring multidisciplinary marine data since 2009. To ensure scientific reliability, this dataset has undergone automated Quality Control (QC) processing in accordance with the QARTOD guidelines.

The dataset contains wave parameters derived from an Acoustic Wave and Current (AWAC) profiler deployed at the OBSEA observatory. The measurements are quality-controlled and provided as real-time observations, preserving the instrument's native 10-second sampling interval for scientific and operational applications.

VMDR Direction (from) mean of waves (mean wave direction) on the water body by acoustic doppler wave array degrees north
