Description

Brazilian diplomat and sixth Secretary-General of the Organization of American States (OAS) 1984-1994 Was born 14 May 1931 in Belém, Brazil and passed away 7 June 2023 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was the son of Altevir Soares, military officer, and Alice de Macedo Baena. On 15 November 1955 he married Gláucia de Lima, public servant, with whom he had one daughter and two sons.
